Welcome to Jaya Integrative Health Centre. We are a multi-disciplinary health centre located in the heart of the Annex in downtown Toronto. In founding Jaya Health, Naturopathic Doctors and long time friends Dana Lerman and Jill Kelner, envisioned providing a warm, safe, integrative approach to support the healing process of each person. We are committed to providing excellence in complementary and alternative health care, where the community can access qualified health experts from a variety of disciplines to support people through all stages of their life cycle and health care needs.
Jaya was chosen as the name of our clinic because of its meaning in both Thai and Sanskrit. Jaya means Heart in Thai and Victory or Victorious in Sanskrit. We recognize a need for a heart centered approach to health care, where each person is treated with respect, compassion and non-judgment. The word Jaya is often chanted in the Indian traditions to help uplift and move the individual towards success in achieving their goals.
Healing is a journey towards the self. It is usually process oriented and works best when education and compassion help facilitate change, growth and healing. True healing comes from engaging the self as a whole, taking into consideration the body, mind and spirit, combined with the unique combination of practitioners that address all aspects of the self. We are home to a variety of practitioners reflecting an array of therapeutic options to support each person in their path to health.
In response to a need within our health care system for integration and communication amongst an individual’s health care practitioners, Jaya Health is currently developing a model of integrative care, where individuals with chronic health care concerns can access a team of practitioners, selected to address the individual needs of that person. Regular meetings and discussions amongst the health care team support a more cohesive, informed approach to treatment.
